‘they don’t teach this in school’

They don’t, do they?

Teach this.

What life is actually like.

This is what it should be called - as a topic, at infant, high school, university:

What Life Actually Is

Because.

Who can get through a life?

It’s a fucker isn’t it?

The sheer effort it takes. The mental toughness. Fortitude. Attitude. All the moments of despair, indecision, having to guess, take a stab at the most crucial question: is this the right way?

And they don’t tell you, do they? A warning would be nice. Would be a great help. But, no.

After Maths, English, Biology, Geography, Religion, P. E., the rest, you’re on your own, sucker.

No primings on how to deal with your thoughts, feeling high, low, alone, alive, exhilarated.

Confusion.

And what about the bills, having zero money, having minus money?

Or:

Parenthood or not? Children - how your own stuff might affect your own kids. Irrational fear and the genuine kind.

WHO YOU ACTUALLY FUCKING ARE.

WHO YOU ACTUALLY FUCKING ARE NOT.

But think you might be - for a while.

Life is a constant challenge to the self - that’s fine, glorious, an okay deal, but come on dudettes and dudes how about a primer before you hit adulthood (whatever/whenever that is) to have you prepared.

Right?

Fair enough?

i think so.
