Ever curled up under the duvet at night and listened to the world rush by outside the window and liked the feeling of being there? You hide from everything, you don’t want to be anywhere else.
This is what its like when it rains and i’m outside. The world empties. Everyone vanishes - where did they go? The streets get silent. The pavements and sidewalks are mine. Cars wash by, houses loom, lamplights burn on to brighten the gloom.
There is no one.
They run someplace.
Flee inside.
Everything gleams and shines and is lit up as the rain comes down.
Harder and harder.
Rain like elephants and tigers.
Rain like the time as a kid sheltering under the big oak in the park. Alone and yet not - the planets above somewhere out there and me down here on the grass watching water come down from the gods.
Rain to make you feel lonesome and safe like the earth has cleared itself for you.
i am care less.
i am care free.
This is my playground.
The world without humans.
Only the birds and the air and the rain rain rain rain rain rain rain.
