fragments of the Bosporus Strait
lying across Istanbul
lying across IstanbulÂ
where europa
meets asia-tic life
they keep on saying
likeÂ
they read this stuffÂ
hear it repeat it
the Bosporus Strait
northwest TurkiyeÂ
where man meets manÂ
woman sees woman
and i lay across
da Bul of Istan
some kind of god come down
all human and other
a giant finding a bed for the night
draped over this great city
ConstantinopleÂ
head in Europa
feet in Asia
the warbling voices going out to the Med
Sea of Marmara
this is something new
and ancient
an amphitheatre of the mind
sun and starsÂ
imagination
in your eyes
Aegean Sea
Black Sea
Bulgaria
Bursa
cultures colliding kaleidoscoping
the burning orb aboveÂ
and you lost somewhere out there
notÂ
understandingÂ
you are
yet
