BECAUSE THEY CAN PLAY F*CKING GOOD FOOTBALL is coming soon...
From 1 March, my new noir Erik ten Hag football book is live...
The book, which is being written concurrently, is a noir-narrative poetic account of Erik ten Hag’s opening campaign as it unfolds. It starts last summer in a steamy Bangkok, where I watched Erik take his first training session of the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia and follows him, as I have, through Cristiano Ronaldo’s first walk-out - of July’s friendly at Old Trafford versus Rayo Vallecano - the opening day defeat to Brighton, on the Europa League trail to Cyprus and elsewhere, the uplifting wins over Liverpool and Arsenal, Ronaldo’s second walk-out - versus Tottenham - the Glazers’ announcement of being open to selling the club, the run to the Carabao Cup final versus Newcastle, the dropping of charges against Mason Greenwood, and all the rest of the grand soap opera that is Manchester United and managing the world’s biggest club.
On 1 March there will be a free sample, then after that it will cost £4.99 a-month for weekly chapters that serialise Because They Can F*cking Play... By the start of May the book will have caught up so that what you read in the last month of the season is being written as it OCCURS.
